Go to Google Webmaster Tools and sign in just as you would sign in for your gmail account it should be the same. Just follow the instructions where it says adding a website. Geotargeting is extremely important,especially if you are selling a certain product or service to a specific region, but no one in that region seems to be finding your site.
If you are using wordpress i recommend you first download the Robot Meta Wordpress Plugin first. Watch the video on how to set this up correctly. At the bottom of the plugin you will see a section to add your Google webmaster tool key. This key is used for Google to verify your website and make sure that all the links are functioning.
